Smartbox Gifting
Part 1: Business Case
Background: For years, Smartbox was primarily a Beneficiary App, which means it was only for those who had received a Smartbox gift box and need to register their gift box voucher in order to be able to see all the experiences available within the box, and if it's a Stays box, they can go ahead and make a booking as well.
Is there any value for the App to become another avenue within the gifting eCommerce space, improve in customer engagement generate additional revenue for Smartbox?
Problem Statement: Prove that Retail and omni-channel online (traditional website, native app) can together better customer experience and boost revenue
Current demographic: 45 - 75 years, getting smarter with smartphones // Gifts for: Family, friends
New target audience: Widen the funnel to millennials, younger generation // Gifts for: Self, colleagues, family, friends

This experiment made a strong use case that Beneficiaries are keen on exploring gift boxes via the App. It did not deter them when taken to the mobile web view. This helped further our Business Case to build a complete end-to-end gifting experience into the App.
